Catholic Youth in the Bombay & Goa region are satisfied with a simple job in call center, five star hotel, housekeeping & technical jobs in gulf………There is hardly any catholic youth who is interested in joining Indian police force, Indian army – airforce - navy…….There is hardly any catholic youth who applies for jobs in the Banking sector…….There is hardly any catholic youth who is interested in becoming industrialist, businessman, entrepreneur…….There is hardly any catholic youth who is interested in becoming a Lawyer, Engineer, Doctor, CharteredAccountant..…There is hardly any catholic youth who is interested in becoming politician, ias/ips/ifs officer, bureaucrat, diplomat, president, prime-minister, governor, home-minister, defence-minister……on the west coast of India except for the mangalorean/malyalee catholics all the other groups of catholics don’t have any vision – mission - ambition.
Like the Politicians our Catholic Clergy have also become corrupt and greedy and they have betrayed the hopes and aspirations of poor catholics……It is very foolish for the poor catholics to route their prayers through these corrupt & greedy clergy to the almighty and it is extremely idiotic for the poor catholics to go for confession and disclose their secrets to these corrupt & greedy clergy……The poor catholics should directly pray to Jesus Christ & Mother Mary and directly confess their sins to God alone and read the Bible on Sundays instead of wasting their time attending the Sunday Mass. Has anyone come across a bevda (drunkard) priest or bishop or cardinal or pope or missionary Obviously NO………But one will come across a large number of lay catholics especially in the Bombay & Goa region who have become bevdas………the clergy will not bother to discourage the lay catholics from drinking alcohol it is for the lay catholics to decide for themselves what is good and what is bad for them……A Hindi Joke on a Drunkard : Ek Bevda (drunkard) ek baar raat ke barah bajey, raaste ke beech khada tha. Ek Policewala ne usko dekha aur usko pucha.."Abbe Bevde! yahan kyon khada hain?" Bevda bola : "Right now, mere ankhon ke saamne pura shaher ghoom raha hain. Jab mera ghar aayega, main us mein ghus jaounga. ”On Christmas day catholics wish their families, friends, relatives ‘Merry Christmas or Happy Christmas’ and Not ‘Merry X’mas or Happy X’mas’…It is very idiotic when some catholics put a big star at the entrance of their village or housing society and put the words ‘Merry X’mas or Happy X’mas’ instead of ‘Merry Christmas or Happy Christmas’. Bombay’s Aboriginal inhabitants live in the 189 Gaothans & 43 Koliwadas that are spread across Bombay city & suburbs. All the land surrounding the gaothans & koliwadas has been swallowed up by the growth of the city and if the gaothan & koliwada residents do not wake up from their slumber then within a few decades the goathans & koliwadas will also get swallowed up by the growth of the city. There are billions of rupees to be made by exploiting the entire konkan coast. This explains why a maximum number of Special Economic Zones (SEZs) are in the konkan coast and almost all these SEZs will get converted into Real Estate Zones (REZs). Ofcourse the natives of Konkan have realized that the SEZs or REZs will not benefit them but will only benefit the wealthy industrialists, corporates, migrants, builders, landsharks, slumlords, politicians this explains why the natives of konkan are opposing the land acquisition for SEZs/REZs.. Goa (which was originally part of konkan) is also being exploited but since most of the goan youth prefer settling abroad there is not enough young blood to protect Goa. Only the natives of Konkan (which includes thane, bombay, raigad, ratnagiri, sindhudurg, goa) can protect the entire konkan coast from being exploited and this can only happen when the natives agitate and demand statehood for konkan. The people in Telangana & Vidharbha are sacrificing their blood, sweat, time for a separate statehood for Telangana & Vidharbha and its time the people of Konkan also sacrifice their blood, sweat, time for a separate statehood for Konkan. http://www.bombayland.blogspot.com/ http://www.east-indians.com/ When a poor man from a sterile, lifeless village with nothing to satiate the hunger in his stomach, or heart, comes in search of the proverbial pot of gold to Bombay. Once in the city, he is confronted with the problem of finding a roof over his head. It would be simplistic to think that a disempowered man comes to a city like Bombay, chooses a piece of land unbridled and decides to set up his shanty. What is not simplistic, however, and a part of the truth puzzle, is the way the land mafia operates. It grabs land and then rents, leases out or sells it to the poor man looking for a roof over his head. In short, in a modern, urban setting you have a carefully constructed feudal set-up where the land-grabber -- read Mafia -- more or less owns the people living on it. Possessing one more part of the truth puzzle are the bureaucrats. These modern-day 'feudal rent collectors' with the right kind of grease make the impossible possible. Most of it is euphemistically called 'legalisation process'. Whether it is electricity and water connections or ration and ID cards, everything is available for a price. In a burgeoning city with little or no natural land, builders enjoy tremendous power. They, in turn, fit a part of the jigsaw puzzle. They are a rich source of funding for the ever-hungry politicians, and in turn are allowed a free use of the muscle of the mafia and the bureaucratic ink of the formidable civic administration. Politicians fit the other part of the truth puzzle. Power is what the politicians want and, fortunately or unfortunately for them, it flows from the ballot boxes. What better way to get ballot boxes filled than have captive audiences, which the land mafia gladly provides, of course, for a price. Putting together the pieces makes for an ugly picture. But that ugly picture is the truth. Almost 60 per cent of Bombay's population of 18 million plus lives in slums. That is a staggering figure by any standard; something which any city cannot be proud of. The endless cycle of slum demolition and rehabilitation cannot end till the incestuous network between the land mafia, slumlords, bureaucracy, municipality, collectors office, builders and politicians is not shattered. That incestuous network cannot be dismantled till you make sure that men and women do not migrate from rural to urban areas under distress and because of dispossession. A distressed, dispossessed man is ripe for exploitation. The real urban solution lies in men and women in villages finding no reason to shift to cities. In concrete terms, the UPA government should invest time and money in agriculture, adding value to it and making it an 'industry' good enough to provide sustainable employment for 12 whole months and a robust rural development model that does not force men and women to flock to Bombay city.
