 Santosh Helekar <[email protected]>  writes

" Goan population is likely to grow only to about ~1,590,000 in 2020, assuming
it is about ~1,470,000 today, unless one believes that millions of non-Goans
will invade and settle down in Goa."
The usual terminology is  "new-Goans" and the 2011 census will surely shed some
more light  on increasing population levels in Goa that  are not supported
soleley by the local  growth rates quoted by Santosh Helekar "The Goan
population growth rate has remained static at about ~12,000 people per year for
the last several years"

By the way 1,590,000 or for that matter 10,000,000 people in Goa would be fine
if the proper infrastructure including roads and transportation, garbage and
sewage disposal , adequate housing, power and gas, clean drinking water and
jobs
(just the bare necessities of life) could be provided to support a decent
standard of living.
Best Regards.
