North Kannad dist has a population of 15 lakh and has double the area of Goa.
South Kannad dist has population of 20 lakh and almost same size as Goa. After
their merger with Goa, the new state (dont know what name, say Xxxxx) will have
only 20-25% nij-goekars.
This may put an end to Marathi, Siv Sena and MGP type hegemony in Goa (as said
by Nascy Caldeira), which is being allowed currently by Goan politicians for
their electoral benefit despite the fact that Nij-Goekars are still a mojority
in Goa. Politicians are habituated to please minorities. They know that
minorities (non-goekars) vote enmasse but majority (nij-goekar) votes split.
In the merged scenario, Nij-Goekars would be a minority. And by chance a new
hegemony crops up, it would be under control of the new set of ruling
politicians from the merged areas of Karwar-Mangalore.
But a silver lining does exist in Xxxxx: Nij-Goekars attaining minority could
be a boon in disguise. The politicians may start appeasing nij-goekars
(minority) because they know that Karwari-Mangalori (majority) votes would
split.
And then the new set of goanettors (sorry, whatever new name) dominently from
Karwar-Mangalore would be posting comments like:
Hi Xxxxxnettors,
I am in favour of zzzzzzzz; as this will put an end to nij-goekar, salcette,
bardez and Dabolim type hegemony in Xxxxx. Viva Xxxxx!
By the way Panaji is far away from Manglore and in one corner of Xxxxx. How
about shifting capital to Bhatkal or Ankola?

Scrap both Mopa and Dabolim. Airport needs to be in the centre of Xxxxx at
Kumta.
