Commitment To Eradicate Ushering in the golden jubilee year of Goa’s so called liberation, Chief Minister Digambar Kamat on Sunday assured his government's commitment to the eradication of unemployment, poverty and illiteracy from the state. The words are “commitment to eradicate” which means, “will leave no stone unturned to exterminate or do away with completely”. A marvelous statement on a day, we are made to believe, we were liberated. Shouldn’t we Goans feel ecstatic and euphoric with this strong assurance from our Chief Minister ? May he be blessed in his mission “commitent to eradicate”. Hope Goa and Goans, live to see the day of true liberation !
Our Chief Minister, spoke of eradicating unemployment, poverty and illiteracy but can we in truth make this possible if corruption is not eradicated ? So having poverty, unemployment and illiteracy on the menu without the mention of corruption, it is not going to take the cart anywhere. With corruption we still remain stagnant and in this fast and liberal world stagnancy is death. Today what’s ailing Goa more than anything and everything is corruption, if corruption is marginalized Goa can be liberated from the sham that it is in. Corruption is the mother if not the father of all evils in Goa and so far our Chief Minister along with his entire gang of comrades in arms have survived and thrived only on corruption. Corruption is become a way of life, more than the means to survive. It is our politicians’ deeds and misdeeds that have brought us to this day and the state that we are in. Chief Minister Digambar Kamat’s audacious RP manipulations have again forced the people on to the streets and he has the audacity to call it anarchy. Instead, it is indeed high time that we introspected whether the Kamat Government is spewing democracy or anarchy as it fails to accept the will of the people, which undermines the very basic principles of democracy. Chief Minister further says that, in order to save Goa's environment, the government sent the draft RP2021 to the people and released two regional taluka plans (Canacona and Pernem) after consulting the people. What is the point of a public debate and discussions when they are not taken into account, as fraudulently more anomalies have been injected in the RP2021. The Chief Minister being the minister for mines has failed to stop illegal mining and punish those involved and yet he claims his will to save Goa’s environment, it stinks to kingdom come ! The Chief Minister also insures transparent governance in Goa, that will be the day when the dead will walk. Corruption and transparency are two parallel lines with no inclination of ever meeting, only one can survive. The present opaque governance can ill afford transparency at this point in time, as corruption has entrenched itself far and wide in the corridors of the present regime, as the entire process of wealth-generation among our politicians is centered on cronyism and corruption. Weed out corruption and the political elite will dry up in the sun. My humble prayers to the Chief Minister of Goa, Digambar Kamat, leave aside everything and root out corruption first and everything will fall into place by itself. Are you Game for that ?
