COMMENT also "Just for the record": #4 is superfluous - as Goa and Goans are already mere exhibits courtesy you know WHO and WHAT. Did we not read Rajan Parrikar's "spot the Goan" comment? Wonder what #3 means. Does it mean that in 2010/2011, Goa has the best chance for alignment with Hindu politicians (i.e. Parrikar) or that It is in Goa's best interests to align with the BJP (i.e. LK and that lot)? or does it mean that Goans best get reconverted (purified) to Hinduism or become Hinduized (Swadeshi) Katlicks ....and be taught by way of VideoCDs? Why would any sensible and self respecting individual want to mix religion (which is a private relationship between a human being and his maker or atom - as some would contend) with politics (which is a public hera-pheri of all kinds of sorts)? On a personal note (and for the record) I do not want to see the return of the Apartheid caste system, the systematic and religiously sanctioned abuse of women courtesy the Devdasi nonsense, the sheer inhumanity and brutality of Sati and the Inquisition, or the religiously swept under the carpet abuse of children. Religion should stay out of public life. When mixed with politics, it only serves as an instrument for the suppression of 'others'. #2 is nonsense; never mind the short-term bravado of these loonies. jc
