My friend Camillo's post "Niz Goemkar - Amchem Goem amkam zai" is a reminder of the coffin that we Goans are preparing for Goa with great reverence and enthusiasm.
The great leader Dr. Jack de Sequeira and those around him were well and truly selfless and not like the self seeking ones that we have today. It's true, gone are the days of integrity and honesty, today they are just mere tools left in some dark corner gathering dust. Virtues and adherence have been overwhelmed by lust and greed for power and money in this commercially euphoric political entrenchment. In this era what matters most is the volume and the weight of wealth accumulated in their barns, in the Alps and else where, by our political leaders, waving the banners of wayward, destructive development and communalism, with very little or no thought at all, as Goa gasps for the elusive breath of sustained constructive development and good governance. Goans hoping against hope that this phase of extreme turmoil, magnified by ourselves, will be obliterated by our corrective actions at the next election, thus casting aside the coffin of corruption, stagnancy and decay, and replacing it with a vision of hope and optimism for a brighter, corruption free, secular and a progressive Goa.
