-- Samir Umarye BICHOLIM JAN 19: The Saraswat Vidyalaya's Ex-students' Association (SVESA) has organised a get together of students and
teachers in the campus of Saraswat Vidyalaya on Saturday 19th February 2011 at 6.00 pm. As per the information provided by the representative of the SVESA, Pradeep Joshi they have organised a special programme for the get together to be held next month. "The Saraswat Vidyalaya has completed 99 years and this year we are celebrating decennial year and in view of this the programme organised by SVESA is very important" Joshi who is also on the managing committee of the school told "the students of this school are well placed in every field and they are not just in India but also abroad and this would give them a chance to meet their fellowbeings and teachers after a long time." On this day the Association has not only invited ex-students but also some of the retired teachers who have contributed towards this institution. "This programme would not only recap the past memories but we are also planning to have some cultural programmes to make the entire event very lively" Joshi explained. SVESA was a brain child of some of the ex-students from this school who felt it a need to come together and contribute towards the institution and the society. "Some of the students who were in the school for almost 12 years from nursery to 10th standard developed an attachment towards the school and it almost became a second home for the students and from this very attachment has developed this association" Joshi told "even in our family this is the third generation who is studying in saraswat vidyalaya." SWESA has been involved in conducting several competitions, health check-up camps, rangoli competitions, prabhat ferri with the help of school students. "Today because of busy schedule the ex-students are unable to meet and share their knowledge from various fields with others and in view of this we have organised this special programme" Joshi told. The organisers have urged all the ex-students to participate in the programme in large number and register themselves with the Association. For more details and registering themselves the interested are asked to contact Sneha Bhobe (2264779/ 9823116050), Shekhar Kelkar (9850645670); Dattaram Govekar (9552611595) or Shilpa (9823350159) on or before 10th February.
