Even the Internationally acclaimed Brazilian singer Carlyta Mouhini says it, "Dear, what has happened to Goa? Why so much traffic. It took more than two hours to get here. I can't see the warmth, the peaceful ambience anymore." .... "Baby, why all this? This was a State where our homes were left open and people visited constantly. Today all this security frisking? What has happened to Goa?" It does not stop here. She concludes saying, "Your lovely nature is changing to cold concrete. You Goans are selling your houses and your grottos and your very souls. You are allowing the killing of tourism which in turn will kill your economy. Half of the tourist areas are in the hands of the Israelis and Russians. Wake up and breathe who you are before it is too late."
Hey baby, you have seen it too? But my Brazil born friend who lives closer to the coast in the land of the foxes just cannot see it. Have you been in touch with his communal spin doctors or something? Have you been influenced by his NRIs notorious for raising the bogeyman to scare the shit out of Goans? I do not think so. I just think that you have a soul lady and so you see the Truth. How can a slum dweller be expected to ever recognise the stink in the surroundings (s)he lives in? It is their world and (s)he sees nothing wrong with it. Can we expect a drug addict to ever see what the drug is doing to him? He feels the world around him is crazy. That is the state in which my Goa has been engulfed. So my good friends see nothing abnormal. Thank you Carlyta for the realisation that I am not the only pessimist or migrant basher. Thank you for the realisation that I am not the only one not able to see fact from fiction as my good Brazil born friend has accused me of at Cafe Prakash. God save Goa!
