Please note the times of the Sunset Art Programme @ Kala Academy are changed to 5-6.30 PM. Children of all ages are invited to participate at Kala Academy Jetty on January 30th. Free art supplies (easels, paper, brushes and paints) will be provided to all. This session will showcase Harshada Kerkar, one of Goa's most talented artists.

Harshada Kerkar's father and brother are also among the best-regarded artists of Goa. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts in Painting from SNDT University, Mumbai, and has many solo and group exhibitions to her credit.

The Sunset Art Programme has been established to encourage the free expression of artistic creativity in the children of Goa. Each week features a different artist. Member-Secretary of Kala Academy, Dr. Pandurang Phaldesai stated that the Sunset Art Programme has been initiated for 6 Sunday sesssions, but is likely to be continued.

The inaugural of the Sunset Art Programme at Kala Academy Jetty on January 23 featured Norman Tagore. The Panjim-based artist spoke to the children about his influences, and a large crowd gathered around his easel as he swiftly executed a landscape in watercolours of the scene surrounding the jetty. The children then followed his example with great enthusiasm, and many adults also felt inspired to paint when easels became available.
