Despite all the political turmoil and with so many unresolved issues confronting Goa, Digambar Kamat has been able to hang on as Chief Minister. His government is known only for its assurances and keeping decisions in abeyance. The Chief Minister must have himself lost track of the number of committees he has appointed to examine various issues. He may be indecisive but Digambar Kamat never loses his calm. He always remains as cool as an ice cream. Even when confronted, he does not retaliate. Unlike his Health Minister, he has neither threatened nor abused me. On the contrary he has been reminding me that we should sometime have dinner together. But I have just not had the appetite.
Running a coalition government with ever so many greedy Ministers and MLAs can be a strenuous and nerve-wracking task. In the bargain Goa and Goans have lost but to his credit Digambar Kamat has not lost any hair, weight and more importantly, his chair. So what is the key Mr. Chief Minister?
