To Goanet -
Frederick Noronha quotes Dr. Oscar Rebelo: >My leadership was not being trusted. The best way was to step aside..... >In the GBA, I too had my share of faults -- egoism, boorish behaviour, >flying off the handle, but I have a serious problem when friends and >close associates question my integrity. After the Goan people reposed so much trust in Dr. Oscar Rebelo, he broke that trust. Some of us knew this for a long time. Now Dr. Rebelo's stock is in the toilet despite the Mallu migrant editor trying his darnedest best to shore it up. Oscar Rebelo himself told us through a newspaper column he wrote that he "danced footsie" with the Digambar Kamat govt. This, after he had been telling everyone all the while that he was 'apolitical.' I say, this is the very definition of lack of integrity. You say one thing, do something else when nobody's looking. So presumably Oscar Rebelo has a serious problem with Oscar Rebelo for questioning Oscar Rebelo's integrity. This indignation of Dr Rebelo has a national parallel. When Burqa Dutt and Vir Sanghvi were recently caught with their pants down, they too got all hot and furious under the collar when people finally called them on their integrity. Whip us raw, Burqa huffed and puffed, but don't you dare question my integrity. Yeah, Burqa's integrity is intact just like her virginity. I'll give a penny for all of Dr. Rebelo's integrity and ask him to keep the change. By the way, what exactly is the award for? What exactly has Oscar Rebelo accomplished other than sinking the GBA ship and with it the hopes of the Goan people? The practice of shysters honouring other shysters flourishes in India. Rajdeep gives Sonia an award, Sonia in turn plants a Padmashri on Rajdeep's cheek. Lovely. Who owns "Goa Today"? Not a trick question. Regards, r
