I hope and wish it gets printed. TOI is not exactly the Times Literary Supplement, or the NY Book Review but they try. Time to try harder. Its good to hear more and varied Goan voices, and lived facts. The whole smorgasbord of publishers, consumers and masses and everybody inbetween could learn a lot if they would only listen. As an Indian, I for one woud like to read a decent textbook on just India, its independence movements, Bose, Savarkar, Baga Jatin., Lal Bal, Pal, Chandrasear Azad, Holkar Scindia, Shivaji, the Peshwas, etc. Lots to learn before I even get to Goa.
So keep it up. Those who know please continue teaching. Thank you. ++++++++++++ venantius j pinto Message: 3 Date: Thu, 3 Feb 2011 04:58:34 -0800 (PST) From: Gabriel de Figueiredo <[email protected]> Subject: Re: [Goanet] Defence sites indicate Dabolim as ?war booty? Venantius, I have copied the same (shortened to fit in 1500 characters allowed) in the comments section of the article on the Times of India article. Whether that will get displayed or not is another matter.? My comments on Uday Bhembro's?article have not yet been displayed - relevant issues I mentioned were about the Portuguese laws still being followed, abolition of sati, etc. All in decent, acceptable language. Still, it all depends on whether or not the editors deem it acceptable or not, I suppose. ?
