When a PIL is filed based on news reports, the news paper is filed as evidence, the editor and the reporter are called in for giving evidence or submitting affidavits. In case of news reports from internet, I guess the Courts cannot take a decision as there is no evidence on record. And the Courts are not to investigate in a PIL if what the petitioner states is true. Evidence needs to be presented to the Courts so that they can issue directives. Dr. Ferdinando dos Reis Falcão.
