Congratulations to JoeGoaUk But where is everybody? Like I usually do, i.e. sharing my first hand experience etc with you, I also wanted to share with you this my personal sentiments bearing in mind ‘sharing’ helps (works both ways) Here I am, like a fool, expecting my inbox to be filled in with many more individual awards from my net friends or well-wishers, the moment it was announced (on 2nd Jan 2011).
But no, 4 days later, I have got one (Gn) followed by another 2 the next day (GRN) A week later, there were about half a doz more. That’s it. No more. Of the few individual awards I got, at least 3 of them whom I never even known before. What is this guys? Were you not happy for me? Or is there anything else I am not aware of? Or perhaps, you think I am created or funded by some saffron/political parties or by some mining lobbies? Were you so busy that you had no time to send me just one worded (Congrats) mail? Why these some sort of mixed reactions amongst yourselves? Have I cheated anyone? Did I use some ministerial influence to get me an award? Do I have any friends or relations with the organisation? Or did you really think that whatever I do, I do it for awards? Believe me or not, I even tried to divert their minds away from me but no they went ahead.. I am very grateful to Goa Sudharop and for the ‘recognition’ which I could actually see myself while I was still living. The worst part of this tragedy is when I felt that I have been let down by most of my very own near and dear ones (net friends). What is this all about? May I also know please! People do anything for publicity. A mother/father would like to see their son/daughter name or pic or both to appear in newspaper/TV etc So do the sports persons, tiatrists, institutions etc etc As for politicians ,we even see how they pay for publicity. Who does not like publicity? Even some of our photojournalists despite being paid by the news papers, their names also appear on top of the Pic even when they did not click the photo themselves. Here, I am with no Pic nor name yet there seems to be so many doubts in your minds depite being I am actively on the net with same Id, same taste, same thoughts, same interest etc for the last 8 years. Put yourself into my situation and try to feel about it. Now. don’t even bother to send me your belated tasteless ‘ponnos’ as they say ‘daddoun pikoilolea ponnsak ghost asona’. You had one full month for it. Public applause etc should come spontaneously and not because the host ask for it repeatedly saying ‘taliyam ho jaye’ Behind every mask there is a face, I mean, a human being with face, heart, feelings etc There may be some important or glorious moments in one’s life. If known, let’s show or try to be happy for them in whatever ways we can Now, having said or expressed my fragility as above, it’s time to ask myself a question How many times, did I award others when they really needed one?
