The number of Goans living in Goa who claim not to be Indians is negligible. Nobody takes them seriously. For example, only one resident Goan with Goan ancestry has so far claimed to be non-Indian on Goanet. His name is Floriano Lobo. His non-Indian political party has virtually no supporters among resident Goans. Almost all Goans living in Goa want to be Indians, dictated by their genetics and their Indian Hindu, Indian Christian and Indian Muslim culture. They want to migrate to the rest of India for better opportunities as they have done over the last 500 years. They want to marry Indians from other states, many of them of other castes and creeds, which is a great blessing from a genetic standpoint because it leads to the dilution and ultimate elimination of harmful recessive genes that have wreaked havoc due to inbreeding and endogamy in Goa over the past several centuries.
