*Rahejas more important than Goans Jose Maria Miranda, Margao* The news report that the controversial Raheja project at Carmona has been approved by the TCP Board has certainly shocked all those who are concerned about the environment and the demography in Goa. The Environment Impact Assessment has not yet been obtained and the mandatory ten metre road is non-existing. The hurry in which the decision has been taken demonstrates total disregard for the judiciary, as the matter is before the Court, and was obviously taken for some consideration and perhaps at the behest of Churchill Alemao, on whom the Chief Minister depends for his survival. The project has been approved subject to construction of the ten metre road. Knowing how illegalities are regularised in Goa, the government will obviously use its powers to acquire land for the road, once a sizeable settlement is already in place, in the controversial complex. Do we need anything else to prove that Churchill loves money and Rahejas much more than Goans and those who elected him? And that Digambar Kamat would stoop to the lowest levels to save his chair, for this is far more important to him than saving Goa? -- Please post your comments on my Blog: http://goanidentity.blogspot.com/ Please also see below: 1.
