There has been unprecedented criticism to Babush distributing TVs and bicycles to the voters. What is happening in Porvorim since August 2010 is even more exciting. It is all done under the name of Porvorim Yuva Front and SHGs. Food items were distributed in temples during Ganesh Chathurti and some bags found their way to christian houses during christmas. The birthday bash was held last friday at the Porvorim Sports ground with bufffet tables laid out and bus loads of people feasting and dancing in the huge pandal that was erected for the purpose. Some say that panch members have even been gifted cars and other goodies. It is a Rohan Khaunte hurricane that has been sweeping Porvorim constituency in the run to the assembly polls. But will all this expenditure be considered during the time of the polls by the Election Commission? Why not monitor any likely candidate 2 years before the elections? But what is surprising is that the press does not see this splash and bash worth highlighting probably because it does not fit the larger SS game plan.
