GRA's clarion call to Azad Maidan on a weekday has already invited some
criticism as many Goans are working and may not be in a position to attend.
This throws up even some questions.
ARE GOANS REALLY CONVINCED DEEP DOWN ABOUT SAVING GOA?
ARE GOANS EXPECTED TO BLINDLY RESPOND TO INVITATIONS FOR THE LAUNCH OF ANY
FREE FLOATING MISSILE?
WE HAD THE GREAT GOA BACHAO ABHIYAN AND WHAT HAPPENED? Who fought and who
exploited?
WE HAD THE GREAT KONKANI AGITATION AND WHAT HAPPENED TO ROMI SCRIPT? Who
fought and who reaped?
The problem with Goa lies here. We are expected not to question but blindly
respond like goats to clarion calls from those who conspire and perspire
from time to time with no accountability and transparency. If we do raise
questions, then our GOANNESS itself comes into question.
We all seem to enjoy a good Government bashing and a sound Digambar
thrashing at the liberation square.
But we have still not understood that revolutions cannot be conceptualised
on a saturday and executed on a sunday.
