Soter has struck the right chord. We can pass all the resolutions and gather in
thousands to express our grievances but what effect will it have on the persons
that currently wield the political clout in Goa? If this is a clarion call to
resistance, then let every erstwhile Goan register to vote in the next election
and then "TURN UP TO VOTE ON ELECTION DAY MAKING SURE TO VOTE FOR CHANGE NOT
CASTING A DRUNKEN VOTE FOR THOSE DISHING OUT FENI TO BUY OUR VOTE ". This will
ensure that we elect people in whom we trust to do the will of the people and
not the will of the powerful lobbyists. Then and only then can we expect a
Government of the People for the People and by the People. Re -electing the
same old scoundrels will never result in fulfilling the aspirations of the
people for a truly representative Government which is totally aligned with the
wish of the people they represent.
