Taleigao Tiatr Competition Results By Anjali Figueiredo
St. Michael Taleigao Socio-Cultural Association, 1st All Goa Invitational Tiatr Competition held in Taleigao from 25th February 2011 to 4th march 2011.
The organizing committee felicitated the veteran Taleigao village tiatrists who brought name and fame for the village like Antonio Xavier, Camilo Xavier J. Manuel Dias, Luis Caetan Blasio Viegas, George Candido Abreu, Santan H Viegas, Camilo Robert Fernandes, Roseferns. Vice President of the Tiatr Academy of Goa said that Caetaninho is the root which has spread and that's the reason for the upcoming tiartrists in Taleigao. He said that many tiatrs should take place and in this same quantity and quality. He also said that competitions should be held because in a competition every artist tries to bring out his best. There are many troubles but there is a fruit in the end.
He also said that critic should be taken sportingly and this move forward without backing is our 'Konkani Daiz'. Santan H Viegas, composer who wrote more than 1200 songs sung by Mil –Mel-Nel for the last 33 years and others who won prizes for the Kala Academy, Vandana Production Oar Competition from 2006-2011 and still compose songs for professional tiatr said that if the association could afford then they should also felicitate other talented personalities from other fields also so that they may receive a boost to do better further.
Antonio Xavier he told the crowd how Hairs used to take place in the past and how he along with his other friends dedicated in promoting the Konkani stage. Camilo Robert Fernandes asked to bring up new comers and to help children bring out their inner talents. Carmin Paul praised Agnel Fernandes, Panch of Taleigao Village Panchyat for forming the committee to organize this function and putting a great effort to make this tiatr a great success. (ENDS)
