To Goanet - Arwin quotes a letter from NT: >Preserve Socio-Cultural Identity of Goa *HEAVY migration of people from all >over India pose threat to the tranquil socio-cultural set-up of Goa. If these >people come and settle in Goa with an aim to maintain the cultural sanctity of >our state, then of course we Goans would have no issues. > >JUDE FERNANDES, Aquem
If someone knows this Jude fellow, please put in in touch with me. I would like to sit with him when I am in Goa next, with India's map and a calculator (to show him basic calculations about India's population, area of Goa v/s area of Bihar etc). Goa was a paradise not simply because of the land's beauty, and that we had a pleasant, gentle culture. It was also because our numbers were small. You didn't have humans crawling out of every inhabitable crevice. WE SHOULD DO EVERYTHING IN OUR POWER TO KEEP IT THAT WAY. (O well I know - horse, bolt, barn, door, lock) By the way, UP bhaiiya doesn't want your culture. He is happy with his spit-shit-piss & paan culture, thank you. While he may not adopt your culture, he has adopted your names with enthusiasm. Basappa has turned into Bosco, Pardeep has become Pedro, and Rajkumari Devi is now on the voter rolls as Rosie D'Cunha.
