Platilda to Inaugurate 2nd Popular Tiatr Festival 2010

Platilda Dias a very popular tiatr artiste of yester years will light
the traditional lamp to mark the inauguration of the Second Popular
Tiatr Festival organized by Tiatr Academy of Goa in collaboration with
Kala Academy on 10th March 2011 at 6:45 pm sharp at the DMK Auditorium,
Kala Academy, Panjim. The brief inaugural ceremony will be followed with
the staging of the first tiatr of the festival ‘Vichitr Natem’ written
and directed by Oldrin Sequeira.
In all nine popular tiatrs directed by well known directors of tiatr
stage namely John D’Silva (‘Pisollem’ on 11/03/11) , Prince Jacob
(‘Kedna Utt’ttolo’ on 13/03/11), Comedian Agostinho (‘Godfather’ on
14/03/11), Mario Menezes (‘Futtleli Boxi’ on 15/03/11), Alfredo
Fernandes (‘Puro Ami Tras Kaddleat Te’ on 19/03/11), Comedian Domnic
(‘Novo Dis Udetanam’ on 21/03/11), Menino De Bandar (‘Devan Ghoddlem
Munxeam Moddlem’ on 22/03/11) and Roseferns (‘Bhurgim Tim Bavlim Nhoi’
on 24/03/11) will be staged in the competition.
Competition of tiatrs performed by commercial artistes has got a
specific importance because the writers and directors, as experienced in
the First Popular Tiatr Festival held last year in Margao, make serious
attempts to put up a better performance so as to qualify for awards of
the competition.
Besides providing a remuneration of Rs. 20,000/- to each of the tiatrs
and giving them 70% of the gate money TAG presents awards and
certificates in all compartments of tiatr such as acting, singing,
direction, script writing, lyrics, stage setting, background music,
light effects, etc etc.
A nominal entry fee of Rs. 30/- only has been kept and the tickets are
available at the counter of Kala Academy during office hours.
All tiatr lovers are requested to attend the tiatrs of the festival in
large numbers.
