BeBook Charity Art Auction at Goa Marriot Hotel

Invite: http://bit.ly/BebookCharityArtAuction2011

With 44 Goa based artists putting up their works for auction on the 15th of March at the Marriott Hotel in Panjim, the Bebook Charity Art Auction promises to be a first in many ways. Angira Arya, an experienced auctioneer from Mumbai is flying down to ensure that the auction will not only go off smoothly, but be an exciting affair.

Bebook is a project of Tara Trust, a registered charitable organization, and aims at taking books, art and craft to the underprivileged children in Goa. Currently, the Bebook Mobile library project is working in 7 locations spread over southern and northern Goa. Whether it is orphanages, homes for street children or differently abled children, the mission of this project is clearly to stimulate learning and creativity in these children. The mainstay of Bebook is the volunteers, who have managed to get this project on the road without waiting for the funds that would be required to start such a project. However to sustain the project and to grow, Bebook now requires funding and therefore the Art Auction.

The artists who have given their work for the auction include senior artists like Vamona Navelcar, Antonio E Costa and Sadguru Chendvankar. Established artists like Subodh Kerkar, Yolanda Sousa, Theodore Mesquita, Querozito De Souza, Rajeshree Thakker, Rajendra Usapkar, Sonia Rodrigues Sabharwal, Viraj Naik, Apurva Kulkarni and Pradeep Naik are just some names of those participating in the auction. Young and upcoming artists like Karishma De Souza, N. Kanhaiya, Aadhi Vishal and many others have also contributed their paintings.

The auction is being hosted by the Marriott Hotel who are the main sponsors of the event. Pernod-Ricard India, Centrum Publishers and Kingfisher Airlines are the co-sponsors. For online viewing of the catalogue, the Bangalore based artflute.com has provided the support. For further information, please contact us at [email protected] or 9260710484
