I find the GRA litany bit confusion. GRA is a peoples' movement
Me: All NGOs are peoples' movement. Stating the obvious. GRA members have pledged to do what the people of Goa want them to do. Me: Impossible. Will there ever be a consensus. Politicians can create divisions in village organizations. Have we ever seen village unity? GRA has pledged to keep away from MLAs and political parties currently in the Assembly. Me: GRA's message must be heard in the assembly. Who will bring up the issue in the house? Will the government take whatever decsion regarding GRA demands without first debating the issues in the house? GRA is not apolitical either. Me: I find the above contradictory. Does it mean it is attached to a political party either directly or indirectly? A clarification would help. GRA wants elected politicians to transfer power back to people. Me: How, may I ask? The people elected them. Somebody has to rule, unless there is a President's Rule. The people who are elected to village panchayat cannot rule the village in a fair and democratic manner. . GRA pledged to take all issues plaguing Goem, Goemkar and Goemkarponn. Me: Wow, the 3Gs. A bubonic plague is called for that would result in wiping out the rats, also called politicians. Tell me what's the fine line between Goemkar and Goemkarponn? GRA is not backed (even covertly) by any political lobby either. Me: This further confuses the GRA confession that it is "not apolitical either." GRA believes: every Goemkar is concerned of Goem and Goemkarponn. Me: I have heard it so many times that I have now come to believe it is a cry in the wilderness. The talk of getting rid or dislodging "mafias" is liking taking a shot in the dark. What mafias? Russian? Israeli? Gambling? Matka? Construction? Does GRA has the muscles to take on these great forces? Maybe, it is GRA's long-range goal but I would suggest that GRA first take in hand tasks that seem easy to handle for an organisation that has just been born. Let GRA be accepted by Goemkars Lastly, the biggest boo-boo of all, calling GRA "congomerate". BTW, does Rajendar hold any position in GRA? I am not trying to deride GRA but I find its gospel as spelled out by Rajendar had to understand. Whatever GRA is and wants to do, my best wishes for its success. Can someone post the names of the NGOs wanting to save Goa, save identity and save ourselves (my way of SOS) from ourselves. Eugene --------------- GRA RALLY ON 15th MARCH AT 3 PM AT AZAD MAIDAN PANIM needs to be supported because: GRA is a coglomerate of over 50 village groups fighting against local mafias. GRA is being joined by more groups as days pass. GRA believes that Organization is bigger than Individuals. GRA has no single leader, who can turn tables later on those who rallied behind. GRA is peoples' movement. cGRA has pledged to keep away from MLAs and political parties currently in the Assembly. GRA is not apolitical either. GRA wants elected politicians to transfer power back to people. GRA pledged to take all issues plaguing Goem, Goemkar and Goemkarponn. GRA is not backed (even covertly) by any buisness lobby. GRA is not backed (even covertly) by any political lobby either. GRA believes: every Goemkar is concerned of Goem and Goemkarponn. GRA believes: every Goemkar wants to rid Goem of Mafias. GRA believes: Goemkars would rally on 15th to warn the Mafias. GRA believes: 15th March is only a begining. GRA believes: More Goemkars would revolt after 15th to dislodge the Mafias. GRA believes: Goemkars would finally WIN back their Bhangrachem Goem from mafias. Rajendra
