Talking Photos: Remti Dongor, Pali-Tollem, Vaingonn etc
'Remti-Dongor' has come from O/L of Remedious hill Remti Dongor 3 kings chapel, kings way (Reyam Paaz) on the hillock Cuelim, Cansaulim There are 3 ascending and one descending pathways (Paaz) as seen in the pic. There are also two vehicular tarred roads to the hillock, one done few years ago A view from Velsao–Pale Lake http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5492852916/sizes/l/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5492854230/sizes/l/ This is the lake ‘Pali-tollem’ http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5492855022/sizes/l/ Legend (True story?) says, Velsaokars too had a ‘Rei’ or King On the feast day i.e. Jan. 6, after decending from the hillock, the thirsty Buffalo (now horse) straight went to the lake and the king who was riding on it drowned. So, no king for Velsaocars since then. It may be noted that once, Velsao was part of Cansaulim until they had their present Church in 1625 (Cansaulim Church St. Thomas, 1581) Nearby (next to the lake) Green fields (Aingonn or Vaingonn) with streams When kids, we used to catch ‘Daddyo, Kanare, Inzllam, cumbarukam, lalukio, Gonnke etc’ and bottle them to use as aquarium in the house or throw them in our public drinking well only to be eaten up by the bigger fish there http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5492856602/sizes/l/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5492263673/sizes/l/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5492858112/sizes/l/ Vegetables: Fresh nab http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5515138501/sizes/l/ Naab, konkno dudhi,, irir, Tenddlim, Touxim, Mullo or muvo http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5515139669/sizes/l/ Lambo toram (Neighbour’s) http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5515747600/sizes/l/ These are our’s http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk37/5515895018/sizes/l/ Extra: Flower boy opp Panjim Police Station http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk36/5515729030/sizes/l/ [email protected] for Goa & NRI related info... http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/ For Goan Video Clips http://youtube.com/joeukgoa In Goa, Dial 1 0 8 For Hospital, Police, Fire etc
