'Hampi' as the name of a tourist spot in Karnataka is correct, but the name of the fish as I know is khampi, khampttul, khampttulam, etc. In South Goa the letter 'k' is silent in spoken Konkani but it should be added when writing - that's the difference between spoken and written language.
