If the economic surveys are to be benchmarks for judging every Government's performance then credit must go to Goa's CM, Digambar Kamat for the GSDP growth from 9.46% to 13.03%. For those who believe in giving certificates of good governance to their political parties, this is definitely a feather in the cap of the Congress Government in Goa. That the hidden costs in term of impact on environment, health, sanitation, heritage and culture get brushed under the carpet by political parties in power is another question all together. Going by BJP standards of 'Shinning Performance', it is but fair to appreciate Digu bab for the quantum jump in Goa's growth index.
