Hats off to all the guys who attended the GRA meeting. You showed to the rest
of the Goans that there are people who are ready to walk the talk. Those brave
hearts showed to rest of the Goans they cannot be bought for few rupees , they
care Goa more then their Jobs and comforts of their homes. They will not stay
back at home and bad mouth the good work of GRA activist. While these few brave
heart toiled hard to make this event a great success, there were other who
where too busy writing/acting against the GRA. I humbly request those sitting
on the fence, if cannot not be a part of GRA its fine, but do stop mongering
about GRA and its motives. If you cannot be support and be part of GRA in its
endure to wipeout the ills then please keep your thoughts and philosophies to
yourself. GRA need doers not spectators.

Kudos to Agnelo on his post regarding GRA meeting. Goans have to encourage
and support any organisation trying to save Goa from being ruined further. We
should stand by whoever takes a step no matter how small particularly knowing
that they are against very powerful politicians/builders/illegal miners who
have enormous clout, money, vested interests as well as muscle power. Some
Goans may be sceptical with past experiences and are hesitant to come forward
to lend support and are bidding their time to be convinced how GRA is doing and
this is normal. In due time more will join due to doubts and as pointed out
by Agnelo “what is perhaps haunting them is the ghost of GBA – Goa Bachayo
Andolan”
Construtive criticism is always welcome and is important while criticism for
the sake of criticism is absolutely disgusting. However there are many
Goanetters who fall in the latter category. They are very vocal in just
voicing criticism and assuming that nothing can be done to save Goa. For them
Goa is lost and is dead and we have just to close our eyes to all the wrong
happenings in Goa and just accept it i.e. be blind and accept our fate. They
dont believe in any positive steps. All that they believe and do is just
criticise and dont give anyone who is willing to do something about change any
chance. Being cautious is fine but just criticising and believing we have to
accept defeat and futher ruining of Goa is wrong. When the need of the hour
is unity among Goans and giving support to anyone coming forward to to save Goa
from further ruins they are trying to ridicule, criticize and prevent.
Neither are they prepared to come forward as leaders with concrete steps on how
to save Goa and take the lead so that others can follow, nor are they prepared
to encourage and supports others. They prefer just writing negative things.
One reason could be due to past experiences where many politicians whom we
trusted and were lovers of Goa and voted them to power have let us down solely
for the greed of money. These once lovers of Goa have turned into traitors.
Those who support and follow them for their own selfish reasons are also
traitors.
However we have to make a a new beginning and look to the brighter side and do
all we can to support new leaders coming forward especially knowing fully well
that theirs is a gigantic task to make even a small dent on our well
established politicians. It is only with unity and support can the new leaders
move forward. Goa needs doers and not talkers. Goans should now bury the
past and come forward unitedly to work for a better Goa and save it from
further destruction.
Lastly full credit and appreciation to JoegoaUk a true Goan, who is
selflessly sparing his valuable time, money and efforts to highlight all the
happenings in Goa due to his love for Goa.
