Mickky blasts MLAs on Dabolim denotification TEAM HERALD MARGAO: Former Tourism Minister, Mickky Pacheco on Saturday lambasted South Goa leaders for what he termed as their “U-turn” on the Dabolim airport expansion by maintaining silence on the Cabinet decision to denotify the acquisition of land of one individual Bernard Costa. Briefing newsmen, Pacheco demanded to know as to how the government could denotify land meant for airport expansion when the AAI has not requested the government to do so. Lashing out at PWD Minister, Churchill Alemao, he said, “The so-called leader of the masses of South Goa, who has been championing the cause of Dabolim Airport, has remained a mute spectator, and has tacitly supported the land dropping that would have helped the Dabolim airport”, Pacheco asserted. He continued “Whom is he fooling that he is interested in Dabolim airport when his actions speak that he is against it”. Pacheco cautioned the stake holders of the Tourism industry from South Goa like hoteliers, taxi-owners, bus owners etc to take note of the man of the masses, and demanded that the government should immediately reverse its decision. Saying that the MLAs representing Vasco and Cortalim Jose Philip D’Souza and Mauvin Godinho respectively have also supported dropping of the land acquisition proceedings, Pacheco said the time has come for the people of South Goa to teach all these leaders a lesson. “If the land in question is not acquired for the expansion project, I will come out in the open.
