I would just like to point out that the existence of the BJP came into existence in 1980. If I am not mistaken, Bhandare had started being a Press Note specialist even before then. I could be mistaken on this also as age, senility, Alzheimers and other sundry ills which plague the retired have taken a strong hold. On a side note, Surendra Sirsat once told me in a private conversation that it was Khalap who gave the BJP a foot hold in Goa by agreeing to a seat sharing arrangement with the BJP. And then success begets success. (it started with me accusing the MGP outright for giving the BJP a chance to step into Goa's political scenario. This was after Sirsat was grumbling about the school complex and the super school complexes introduced by the BJP) But then Khalap was Sirsat's bete noir and so his views could be coloured.
