The Parish Priest was discharging his rightful duty as a citizen as well as a true shepherd of his flock. They are the real Church, not the four stone walls. He was rightfully fighting for the people of Panchwadi, to defend them from the evil perpetrated by the state government. Goa has been destroyed by mining. What the people of Panchwadi and other mining areas are trying to protect is not only for themselves, but for the entire state of Goa. I wish other priests who claim to be following in the footsteps of Jesus would do what the Parish Priest of Panchwadi did.
