I was pleasantly surprised to read that the Smt. Parvatibhai Chowgule college
in
Margao is having a screening of a Portuguese film.
It shows that the average Goan has moved on.  Unlike the so-called
Freedom fighters who merely seek to justify their existence and their lucrative
pensions, the ordinary people of Goa are not paranoid about the Portuguese.
The
Portuguese era is part of our history, just as the Muslim (Bijapur rule) era
was
at one time.
I was not born in Goa, nor had I lived in Goa during the Portuguese era, so I
dont have any hang-ups about those times.  I am glad to see that mainstream
Goans are mature and well balanced.
Kudos to the organisers of this event !
