BJP press conference of 18th September 2010 attended by Manohar and Shripad
alleged that the illegal mining in Goa is Rs 4000 crore. Ref:
http://www.indianexpress.com/news/BJP-may-demand-CBI-inquiry-into-illegal-mining-in-Goa/683933

Though Karnataka is 40 times bigger than Goa in area and population,
the illegal mining there is Rs 1000 crore a year, which is 4 times lesses than
Goa. Even then the opposition congress paralysed the Karnataka Assembly and
forced ruling BJP to ban export of ore.

Six months have lapsed since BJP's allegation with the government nicely
negotiating two assembly sessions. BJP did not take the allegation to its
logical conclusion: Forcing the government to ban exports or cap export to
pre-China boom days.

What stops the opposition from agitating the issue as was done by BJP in
Raja-2G scam? Does this mean BJP's allegation was only to blackmail Miners?

Now Ramdeobaba is on record alleging illegal mining of Rs 15000 crore. That
illegal mining is rampant and massive is well known. What is needed is to make
the life of Mines Minister miserable till he stops these excesses. Can Baba do
this? If he can, will he?
