Dear Bevinda,

Thanks for putting up my piece on TargetGoa. Much appreciated.
BTW: I heard Savio Lopes saying over and over again. "We, the parents are
asking for a good future for our children.... We are asking for English
Medium"

However, I sincerely feel that these same 'parents' did not think that their children's future was vested in how Goa is governed, in how our agricultural
fields are built upon and/or inundated with silting mining rejects, our
water tables dried out, our forests mercilessly cut-down, our wild-life
disturbed making them invade our Goan villages and threatening us and our
live-stocks, garbage all over the place, unsanitized markets, no jobs for
Goemkars, mega projects galore, auction sale of government jobs to
outsiders, dilution of electoral rolls with migrant voters to see that these
politicians get elected over and over again thro' this huge vote bank,
replacing actual governance and actual people's representatives with '
elected commission agents' galore, etc etc etc. and therefore never turned up at the same Azad Maidan for the GRA meet on 15 March, 2011 like they did
for the meet on 21st. March, 2011, even when a kid of 13 years told them
(Prudent/365) over and over again for days together that the future of the
Goan kids was in danger just like the 'calf' they saw in the video clip
being eaten away by LIONS aka Goan Politicians.

Do the Goan parents, Goan schools, Goan teachers think that the future of
Goan their children lies in learning/mastering the English language
alone??? so that their kids may line-up at the gate of the Portuguese
Consulate at Altinho, Panjim, like BEGGARS to get the Portuguese passports
and run away to distant lucrative lands for better prospects????

HOW SAD, INDEED.
I see that it is our GOAN PARENTS, our Goan SCHOOL MANAGEMENTS, our
FENCE-SITTING GOAN INTELLIGENTSIA are the ones who are CRUSHING the future
of their own KIDS.

Cheers

Except on two occasions and may be a third one, we Goans have failed to
fight on
a united front. Except for the Opinion poll, Konkanni movement and may be
for
the SEZ and RP 2011, Goans have not come out to fight for the Goan causes
until
and unless they have found stones hurled on their valuable houses. The large gathering at the rally for MOI has proved it beyond any doubt that we are a
shellfish lot.

Comments: Excellent Freddy,
It was my thought but you expressed it! You have put it in a very excellent
way. I too was wondering same thing that why not the Parents think that
other Goan causes are also equally relating to the future of their/Goan
children. If Goa does not survive for our children what our children will
do then? It looks, it is as good as they will be orphans!!!
