Vasco Khariavado Demolitions – for better or for worse?
A view from the other side. - a video - There are 363 structures identified as illegal - Only about 66 demolished so far on 32.3.11 as most other managed to obtain ‘stay order’. - It also seems they all admit (including MMC councillors in front of Local TV cameras) saying that theirs are not the only illegal structures in Goa... - Over 80% of them are migrants with their own habits and culture Once, there was beach but where it is now? Hidden by the illegal structures or slums? Inhabited not by the men but the beasts? Has it turned into a pig sty? Has it turned into a garbage dumping zone? Or is it a Sewerage discharge channel / route (into the Arabian sea)? Neglected by the authorities or by the MGP/BJP/CONG-NCP governments? Neglected by the present MLA/Minister hailing from this area? Vasco Khariavado demolitions – for better or for worse? You decide.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNukzij7X5E The message is loud and clear I have seen many ‘Khariawadde’ in other parts of Goa beaches but never saw one like this. Please also pass on to any environmentalists/NGOs etc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PNukzij7X5E Thanks. The above pic (opening of the beach) also appeared in Front Page GT http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk38/5576253081/ for prev. pics/video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pAdKsk56vMk [email protected] for Goa & NRI related info... http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/ For Goan Video Clips http://youtube.com/joeukgoa In Goa, Dial 1 0 8 For Hospital, Police, Fire etc
