The Audio Album ‘Tum ani Hanv Mellonk’ produced by Jerry and Joanita
D’Souza bagged TAG’s Konkani Song & Music Award for the ‘Best Audio
Album’ of the year 2010. The award was presented to Mr. Jerry D’Souza by
a well known singer of Konkani stage Antonette Mendes in a specially
organized Awards Presentation Function held at the Black Box, Kala
Academy, Panjim on 07th April 2011. The Award carries a cash prize of
Rs. 20000/-, a certificate and a trophy. Shri. Jerry D’Souza also bagged
‘Best Lyricist’ award for his song ‘Panchve Panchve Dongor’ in the same
album.
The ‘Best Duet’ award was won by Romaldo and Andrea for their duet
‘Tunch Mhoji Girestkai’ in the album ‘Jivitant Ghoddom Ieta’. Jr. Reagan
was adjudged the ‘Best Male Singer’ for his title song of the album
‘Tuka Nanv Nam’. Bombay based melodious singer Nephie Rod won the ‘Best
Female Singer’ award for her rendition ‘Ranni Vani’ in the album ‘Buyao
Rocks Konkani’. Shri. Sidhanath Buyao also bagged the ‘Best Music
Composer’ award for the music composition of the song ‘Rani Vani’. All
these individual awards carries a cash prize of Rs. 10000/- each, a
certificate and a trophy.
The panel of judges consisted of Shri. Joe Rose, an experienced singer
of Konkani stage and Fr. Domnic Alvares, a renowned musician.
Besides the Chief Guest Antonette Mendes, senior tiatr artistes John
Claro Fernandes and Sharon Mazarello presented the awards on behalf of TAG.
Ms. Antonette Mendes in her brief address congratulated Tiatr Academy of
Goa for organizing such events which give a lot of boost to the upcoming
talents. She thanked TAG for giving her the honor to present these
awards to the winners.
Speaking on the occasion, Shri. Tomazinho Cardozo, President of TAG
stated that the aim of TAG in instituting these awards is only to give
boost to the hidden singing and musical talents in Konkani. He further
appealed the producers of Audio Albums to participate in this
competition in large numbers.
Lawry Travasso, a well known entertainer with his troupe entertained the
audience with the singing of solos, duets and trios which were well
appreciated by the audience.
Shri Victor de Sa, Member Secretary of TAG proposed a vote of thanks.
