Tiatr Day celebrated. Every year, Kala Academy Celebrates Tiatr day on 17th April since 1996 This year it was jointly celebrated by Tiatr Academy of Goa. On the occasion 7 senior tiatr personalities were felicitated for their lifetime contribution to tiatr stage. They are: Ubaldo Paul Fernandes, Netty Carneiro, Pascoal Rebello, Carlito Fernandes (Musician), Joaquim Carvalho, Antonette Mendes & Joseph Mendes
There was a get together at Kala Academy Lawns near Canteen at 4pm with live brass band playing in the background. Refreshment Tea/coffee, water, Bhatatwada & Makan Pedda was served This was followed by the main event at the DMK Auditorium where 7 artistes were honoured at the hands of Shri Pratap Singh Rane (Kala Academy Chairman) and other dignitaries as seen in the pic/Video Prince Jacob was the guest of honour. Various prizes for the Tiatr Competition held in last Sept/Oct and Cantaram competition were also distributed. This was followed by a short musical show by Socorro de Sta. Cruz and his troupe.
