Viva Liberation! In my 37 years of life,till today I don't understand what exactly Liberation means?In so called liberated Goa,a day ago, about 90 Cavrem locals including women and minors were arrested for fighting against injustice.Their holy water and air is polluted in the name of mining and looks like according to law,fighting to save nature is a offense.Nobody is against mining but everything has got the limit and when we cross the limit,we invite disasters.Our ground water got polluted in the name of mining and polluted industries but in spite of taking such issues in a serious manner we are more interested in protesting against films and poems.
Was Cypriano not murdered by the Police?Was Atala not freed to run away?Was Scarlet not Raped and Murdered?Are drugs not available in Goa?Are Police themselves never held for drug dealing?Is the Crime rate including Rapes,murders,robberies increasing? Did we witness the same during the Portuguese Rule?I am really not aware because I was born in liberated Goa.Looks like things are more easy in Goa for Law breakers than law followers.Our Legal rights are been sold by people in power to migrants to strenghten their vote bank. When there are loads of dirty issues to be dealt with,our so called freedom fighters are interested in cleaning Goa from Portuguese names.Will writing and speaking help us to save our beloved Goa?If we try some other means the ugly people in Power will charge us as Naxals.
