<<I applaud Adv. Rada for his analysis of the Church in Goa. He has rightly

Fr, Ivo>> **Who is the Church? Every Christian is a citizen and has the right to vote for a responsible candidate. S/he is for Jesus. But Jesus wants us to choose one for the welfare of our people. It is difficult to find one good, responsible political leader in Goa. Yet all have to vote. Otherwise, one harmful candidate may come up. It is our right and duty. It is difficult to find out even the principles and ideals of different political parties. They change at every electoral campaign, in such a way that no one knows which principles they are following... Konkani is our language. Why not learn it well? What is the problem to learn it together with English? Why do parents reject Konkani when they are talking Konkani at home? Which is the child that does not learn both Konkani and English?
There is a lot of floor-crossing... One candidate criticizes the other, evening the session of the Legislative Assembly, but all seem to be in the same basket. For whom shall we vote? For those who are communal and trample upon human rights? For those who are corrupt? But who is not corrupt? Not possible to prove? But can we prove that there is police-politician-drug smuggler nexus? Can we find out the 'serial-killer'? Can we fight for our rights? All these are questions without any answer!

FL>>> Respectable candidate? Fr. Ivo??? Why yes. All candidates are respectable. They give even cars; computer work stations; refrigerators; king sized LCD TV sets even to catholic priest during elecion time. Please do not vote for respectable candidates. Vote for a respectable 'system of governance' which is spelt out with its I's and T's dotted and crossed resptly. Does Congress or the BJP or anybody else have such a system????? If not, DEMAND IT and then VOTE.

Fr. Ivo> **For whom shall we vote? For the Congress or for BJP?
FL> I have answered this question above already.

Fr. Ivo> **Other parties are not corrupt?
FL> It is for persons like you to determine this and guide those who might want to listen to you. Parties will be corrupt if their leaders are. BTW Manmohan Singh's hand is forced into corruption by virtue of him not being a leader but by virtue of him being only a pliable bureaucrat who does not have 'NO' in their vocabulary
:-))

Fr. Ivo> **Jesus washed the feet even of his own enemies. We wash the feet of every political leader, but call their attention, like Jesus: "You are not all clean..." No corruption, no smuggling, no nepotism! Only selfless service!

FL> It's a SHAME in capital letters for you to say this, Fr. That was then. This is now . Remember??? [If you go on washing the feet of dirty corrupted politicians, they will expect you to wash or lick wash something else. I am certainly not wrong in saying this
:-))]

Regards.
Fr.Ivo

*Medium of Confusion*
by Radharao F.Gracias

The struggle to delink grants from medium of instruction, appears to be
gaining momentum. The movement may turn, into a typhoon and blow the
detractors, into the dustbins of history or may not even gain gale force and
simply, dissipate away.
The critical factor is the Church, which has taken twenty years to grant
annulment of its earlier policy, to oppose instruction in English. I do feel cynical. I am aware that the Church is essentially for Christ, all the year round. However, when elections come, it is for the Congress! And this, is an
election year!
