For 450 year the Portuguese ruled Goa. In a sad event in 1961 Goa was occupied by an other country. In 1974 and in an unfortunate manner Goa was handed over without consent. But since establishing ties with our new governors which includes cultural exchanges, Portugal's response on the whole has been very weak. One movie festival here and there is of no use to developing and enhancing our ties. We want football teams like Porto or Benfica to grace our stadiums with 45000 people waving the Portuguese flag in friendship. In our occupied land one saw music groups llike Osibisa or Uriah Heep, but there is no GNR or Homens de Luta to satisfy our music tastes. For more than 50 years our bands are singing Mama Eu quero uma chupeita. Teachers are required to teach the Portuguese language which was forced to abandoned due to the cultural genocide backed by puppets and neo colonial perpetrators.
