Panjim is still the most expensive city for Mancurad Mangoes http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk40/5726157710/
Going rates as on 16th May, 2011 at Panjim Market are Rs.400/doz good size mangoes (biggest size) When say good size, not all of them are bigger size, the biggest are prominently displayed right infront of your eyes and when you buy a doz you get only about 4-5 good size and the rest medium sized. That’s cheating. When confronted, the migrant lady said ‘Hatachim panchui bottam sarkin astat?’ (all five fingers are not of same size). Margao, it is cheaper, biggest size Rs. 275/300 The other day we enquired at Bicholim, they had on display of 3 sizes i.e. Rs.200, 150 and 100 (no biggest size though). On 27th April we bought these for 500 for 6 http://www.flickr.com/photos/joegoauk39/5661407446/ and Margao, the same were available for 700 for 12 God knows, what else is also expensive in Panjim Market I could only tell you about the Mancurad Mangoes because we buy a lot. So, next time you go to Panjim Market, watch out! more mancurad pics http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=joegoauk+mangoes+mancurad [email protected] for Goa & NRI related info... http://in.groups.yahoo.com/group/GOAN-NRI/ For Goan Video Clips http://youtube.com/joeukgoa In Goa, Dial 1 0 8 For Hospital, Police, Fire etc
