Contrary to what one might believe, wisdom does not necessarily reside with
the
literate classes only. The catholic hoi polloi of colonial Goa remained the
not so
literate , more because of the reluctance of the men of God to impart the
education
of 3 Rs in their parochial schools.

But it so happens , brilliant observations ( not necessarily to the ears of
the grandes
homens de Deus ) can sprout from the not brilliant minds of common people.
One of
the sayings that comes to my mind is as follows:  '' Padri-cho sermao-uch
aicon tum
munis zaumcho-na, escola-che bancar-ui bosonc zai''
