Dear Ancy, pursuant to my post -action plan i have received a lot of mails -some congratulatory, some expressing support, and a few raising some doubts and queries. it is a mixture of facts, perception and a personal perception on inadequate facts. some opinions expressed by parents andstudents were indeed a very sad commentary on the infighting on the issue.since matter subjudice, a few clarifications below to set the factual position right.this is my opinion , and not that of the school mgt, pta pls note,

1) ST MARYS SSC PLIGHT TODAY BECAUSE OF OUR COMMUNITY CRAB CULTURE, THE INCESSANT INFIGHTING BETWEEN TWO WARRING GROUPS OF TEACHERS, SUPERVISORS WITH THEIR CRONY PARENTS, THE NEVER ENDING ALLEGATIONS AND COUNTER ALLEGATIONS, HAVE REDUCED THE INSTITUTION TO THIS SORRY STATE, EVEN AT THIS PRESENT MOMENT, A LOT OF ENERGY IS WASTED TO MAKE THE GROUPS REALISE THAT NOW THERE IS NOTHING LEFT TO FIGHT FOR.

2) SINCE matter sub judice, briefly answer charge to main allegation-capitation fees. the press reported rs 1.42 crs over 12 years. it includes various heads over 12years.the order states--- 2. The Financial transaction of the School / the Financial stability of the Management Donations taken at the time of admission, Fines collected from the students, collecting Teachers Benefit Fund from students and parents, Primary Teachers Gratuity Fund, Poor Student Fund, all these funds were collected by the Management against the law. It proves that the financial transaction of the school is not as per rules and regulations. The H.M. and the Management have illegally collected Rs.1,45,70881 from the parents and students. Thus Rule No 3.2 (3) (4) of the MEPS has been violated. in this regard the accounts over 12 years were auditedas per stautory requirement, the crime branch has closed the case . capitation fees are gain for person or mgt. sinceall these funds used for the school which did not receive non-salary grants for last 7 years, the crime branch sent file back to edcn dept.at the most the case was for warning censure-mild penalties for procedural irregularities if any-no PRIOR PERMISSION-BLAH , BLAH, BLAH- certaintly not a case for derecognition. this plea accepted by higher authories, and hence the stay. we expect similar viewpoint in dirctor final order. no more points. matter subjidice. however as an ex student, this is to answer in short the alegation asregards capitation fees trumpted in the press. infact most schools collect misc fees in some way or other. why was our school singled out.
oOTHER MAJOR CHARGE-
3. Physical Infrastructure (School Building, Playground, Classroom, Laboratory, Library, Washroom, Facilities for drinking water and Furniture etc) The school is 4 storeyed, the strength of the school is 995, yet as per the Govt Circular dated 11.11.99 there is no toilet on any floor. Although the Inspector of South Zone had brought this to the notice of the Management in writing, so far no provision has been made There is no washroom available on any floor either for teacher or for students. The table, bench, chairs although available as per necessity, yet some of them are not in good condition. There is a need to repair all such benches.

I HAV BEEN WORKING ALL OVER INDIA. 50% OF SCHOOLS ARE OPEN AIR AND WITHOUT CLASSROOMS. MANY OF THEM , INCLUDING GIRLS SCHOOLS EVEN IN MUMBAI DO NOT HAVE TOILETS EVEN IN MUMBAI, WHICH WAS SUBJECT MATTER OF WRIT PIL IN BOMBAY HIGH COURT. ATLEAST ST MARYSHASASEPARATE SHEDWITH TOILETS FACILITIES. HOW COME THE EDCN DEPT IS OBSESSED WITH THIS ISSUE FOR OUR SCHOOL ALONE. pray, when no non salary grant in aid received, where are all these facilities to be privided, improvised to come frm
hope negative viewpoint on capitation fees , and infrastucture is clarified

ANOTHER PERCEPTION IN THE PRESS, AND IN OURGROUP IS THAT MATTER ALMOST SOLVED. WELL, IT IS ONLY A TEMPORARY REPREIVE. NO MAJOR VICTORY. THE MAJOR STRUGGLE, THE APPEAL, THE WRITS ARE WHAT WILL DECIDE THE ISSUE. TILL THEN, HERE'S WISHING FOR PEACE BETWEEN THE TWO WARRING INTERNAL GROUPS. TO ALL WELL WISHERS, PLS REMEMBER TO PRAY FUR OUR SCHOOL INYOUR PRAYERS, WE NEED IT VERY MUCH. DEV BOREM KORUM. The other 9 charges are frivilous -non formation of commitees , education facilities etc which are common to all schools and would not even merit serious consideration in any legal forum
