BUILDER GET LEGAL SANCTION AS LONG ABANDONED LAND ACQUISTION REVIVED IN ORLIM TO BENEFIT BUILDER. The villagers of Orlim since 2008 have been fighting a bitter battle with the authorities to stop the builder who has stopped the traditional access to the farmers and has been carrying out his illegal construction with gay abandon misrepresenting facts in order to get permissions in spite of no access .Laying pile foundation in the paddy field and low lying area filling ponds all with no plans for the same and no sanction under section 17 A .An illegal well which has seen him through his illegal construction to add . While the villagers have gone from pillar to post and now the High court the doors now seem to be closing in on the builder .He has now got the PWD and the land acquisition authorities to reopen a long abandoned land acquisition which was opposed in 1995 by the village and the Panchayat of Orlim at the time, as it sought to broaden the existing road to 6 to 8 meters and the alignment would also affect the houses. Now the builder has sought to resurrect the file and got the authorities to revive the acquision after nearly twelve years. The Villagers on learning of this approached the PWD Minister Mr Churchill Alemao and requested him to either drop the acquisition or relingn the acquisition as per the present road and keep the breadth the same as the existing houses and boundary walls would be affected on this 1100 meter long stretch if sought to be done as per the existing plan. While assuring the villagers that he would realign the road he told them that no house or boundary wall would ever be broken and while he would not give it in writing they should take his word and should have nothing to fear. However the proof is in the pudding it’s said and the truth is the road has not yet been realigned till date however section 12 notices have been sent to collect compensation after nearly 12 years for a paltry sum fixed at the time. The villagers and affected property owners strongly object to this acquisition that is being done at the cost of the villagers to suit the builder Meenakshi Financial consultants selling under Ratan Exotica 66 flats and a swimming pool .The villagers will seek to stop it through every legal and democratic way available and will expose the injustice being done to them to suit the builder.
