According to the President of Goan Association Paris, this is the first time a Konkani Tiatr was staged in Paris with all reputed artist coming from Goa via London. The parish hall at Rue de Banolet was packed to its capacity with most of the over 300 spectators originally hailing from Goa Velha, Siridão and Agaçaim. According to some Goans I spoke to there is a sizeable Goan population of approx. 1,000 Goans living in Paris and the surrounding areas. The storyline of the Tiatr as portrayed by Agostinho Temudo revolves consummately on rampant political corruption in India and particularly in Goa with the blame game this time falling not on the politicians but the electorate itself for electing such unscrupulous machine politicians again and again. The artistes received standing ovation for their performance and the comedy skits provided by Janet, Agostinho and Selvy. Mr. Tomasinho Rogtao, the president of Goan Association Paris proposed vote of thanks on behalf of the executive committee comprising of Elvira Pereira, Valery de Souza, Max, Moises Rodrigues and Stacy Fernandes.
