The week long program which seeks to address the lack of awareness on consumer rights, the complaint procedures and redressal mechanisms will end on 25th June on the occasion of State Consumers Rights Day.
During the week GOACAN will highlight the need for "consumer literacy" so that consumers could make an effort to Read their rights and Write their complaints. Among the consumer issues that GOACAN will focus on during the week are Home Delivery, Computerised billing & Mechanical Safety Check for LPG connections, Food & Medicine Safety, importance of obtaining proper cash memos & warranty / guarantee cards, violations of Packaged Commodities Rules & the ISI mark. Need for consumers to be vigilant about Doubtful Gift schemes & Investment offers, sale of fake, spurious & adulterated goods will also be highligted during this week.
