-- Samir Umarye BICHOLIM: Some unknown culprits on Friday night decamped with cash and gold ornaments worth more than one lakh from Housing Board Sanquelim.
According to the available information some unknown culprits entered the house of the Kalpaka cultural Association secretary, Shridharan Gopal when the family had gone for a wedding at Kerala on Friday. The burgers broke open the front door of the house and stole away cash of Rs 50,000 and gold ornaments all worth more than 50,000. "Looking at the condition of the house it seems that the buglers searched every corner of the house including the jars from the kitchen, sarees from the cupboard and almost everything where they felt gold could be hidden" sources from police told Herald. The incident came to light when the neighbours noticed the door open and all the lights from the house lit. The complaint to this effect was registered on Sunday and the police have recovered some blood samples and finger prints from the site. PI, Harish Madkaikar is further investigating the case. It may be stated that Kalpak Cultural Association is an organisation of Tamils living in Goa and conducts various programmes in Goa.
