There are some EastIndian & Koli Associations in Bombay who are planning to agitate for the below demands from the Maharashtra govt., Indian govt., BMC, MMRDA, etc..
1. Set aside 10% of the INCOME TAX, WEALTH TAX, EXCISE, CUSTOMS DUTY which the Indian govt. accumulates from Bombay for the economic development, social upliftment & welfare of Bombay’s aboriginal people living in goathans & koliwadas. This scheme to run for 10 years. 2. Set aside 10% of the STAMP DUTY REVENUE which Maharashtra govt. accumulates from bombay for the economic development, social upliftment & welfare of bombays aboriginal people living in goathans & koliwadas. This scheme to run for 10 yearss. 3. Set aside 10% of the PROPERTY TAX REVENUE which the Bombay Muncipal Corp. accumulates from bombay for the economic development, social upliftment & welfare of bombays aboriginal people living in gaothans & koliwadas. This scheme to run for 10 years. 4. Set aside 10% of the Revenue generated from the Oil explored from BOMBAY HIGH by ONGC for the economic development, social upliftment & welfare of bombays aboriginal people living in gaothans & koliwadas. This scheme to run for 10 years. 5. Set aside 10% of the revenue which the Maharashtra govt., MMRDA & BMC accumulates from sale of land in bombay for the economic development, social upliftment & welfare of bombays aboriginal people living in gaothans & koliwadas. This scheme to run perpetually. 6. Reserve 10% flats in MHADA buildings in bombay region for bombays aboriginal people living in gaothans & koliwadas. This scheme to run perpetually. 7. Allow Gaothan & Koliwada residents to construct Ground + 2 structures with terrace and to demand from Indian govt. to set aside a 25000 crore interest free loan package for the gaothan & koliwada residents to enable them for the construction of the ground + 2 structures. 8. Provide the goathans & koliwadas with wider bmc water pipe connections. 9. Reserve a job quota of 8% in BMC, City Survey office, ration office, bombay police, collectors office, best, banks, airindia, suburban railway, metro, ongc, monorail, mazgaon docks, etc for the aboriginal people of bombay living in gaothans & koliwadas. This reservation quota to run for 10 years. 10. Pass special laws to protect the last few bits of open spaces, gardens, playgrounds near the gaothans & koliwadas. 11. Appoint special representatives from the eastindian & koli community in the Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Indian Parliament & BMC Committees. THE INDIGENOUS ABORIGINAL INHABITANTS NATIVES BHOOMIPUTRAS SONS of SOIL of BOMBAY – MUMBAI - MOBAI i.e. EASTINDIANS (residents of gaothans) & KOLIS (residents of koliwadas) SACRIFICED ALL THEIR LANDS IN BOMBAY FOR THE ECONOMIC PROGRESS OF INDIA & MAHARASHTRA AND HENCE THE EASTINDIANS & KOLIS are JUSTIFIED IN AGITATING FOR THE ABOVE DEMANDS. But hopes for a better life are often dashed as overpopulation puts a huge strain on cities' infrastructures and their ability to provide basic necessities - like adequate water and a decent place to live. Successive governments failed to improve infrastructure, electricity, water, roads, transportation, telecommunication, education, industries in rural & backward districts & failed to strictly enforce the two child policy in rural & backward districts of India as a result the people from rural & backward districts are left with no option but to migrate to bombay, delhi, calcutta, surat, pune, bangalore, chennai and other cities & towns of India for employment and to live a better standard of life but in the process they overcrowd the cities & towns and make their lives as well as other peoples lives miserable.
