LETS HELP AT LEAST TO SPREAD WHATS HAPPENING

----------

HI EVERYBODY,

The attached is our new Youtube video put together by Carmen Miranda and Jason
Fernandes and a couple of others, involved in the SAVE GOA CAMPAIGN UK.

Web site 'under construction'! Please be patient if you spot mistakes - will
be corrected in due course. But would like some feed back ideas/suggestions
will be most helpful. At the end of the day the web site belongs to us all.

All involved in this campaign are volunteers - some activists and a few
sit-tists who also play a great part in this campaign!

Sit-tists are those who sit at the computer and blast face book, twitter and
all the other means technology has to offer in spreading this information about
Goa which is being destroyed not only by mining but sanding and much more. I
urge you to be an active sit-tist in getting this link out to as many as you
can.

We will be doing our part at the Global Goan Convention/Festival taking place
in UK 22-24th July.
Getting materials ready - to raise awareness of what is happening in Goa today.

An estimated 5000 Goans will be attending on 24th July ( in the past, better
known as SCOGO).
Hopefully we can get our message NO TO MINING IN GOA to the GOAN dignitaries
attending. We have to stand in solidarity with those in Goa fighting for this
cause, under much pressure and violence in many cases by the police.

As a campaigner for this cause it is my duty to give you some facts - without
giving percentages/other etc - to name a few!.

Skin and respiratory diseases among school children, and babies - detected
Rivers polluted with heavy metals - ultimately reaching our drinking water
Dead fish found - miles down the rivers (staple food and livelihood of the
Goans)
Many paddy fields unproductive due to contamination from silt - washed down
from mountains of iron ore waste.
Wild animals, fauna and flora - seriously affected. This includes wild animal
reserves.
Our small country and village roads - being ruined due to continuous heavy
traffic
Heavy mining near villages - damaging health and their very existence
Forests, mango trees and caju trees cut down to make way for heavy vehicles in
and out of many mining areas

PLEASE WATCH THIS SHORT YOU TUBE VIDEO and pass it on.

Thanks Pam
