Yes Fredji, your point is the same as my point -- that the Swindon Goans are not any different. There have to be fights and other issues. But this applies to all communities, like the hackneyed joke about Goans being like crabs in a basket and pulling a Goan down when he tries to climb up. The so-called "truism" was recently repeated by the newest entrant to the Goanet "front brigade", Cuprian Fernandes. I have said before on this forum that this cracked-up joke about crabs is quoted by people of all Indian communities, so it is not exclusive to Goans. Yes Fred, your evangelical pronouncement will be heard lounder in the alleys of Swindon and maybe the fighting forces there will take heed and declare peace. I only hope they find wise men to provide the wiser counsel. Perhaps, Keith Vaz would be the right choice to bring about the settlement. Yes dear Advocate, from "stirring the pot" to "stoke the pot" (or should it be stoking the fires), right-thinking Goans are not amuzed by what is happening in Swindon. Neither sensible Goans want "to keep the pot boiling". The Swindon mess seems to me like the "pot calling the kettle black." Okay, enough to these idioms, as they may be all "Greek" to some. "But, as they say, shit happens. Thanks for calling me The Rt. Honourable, but it is you who is "honourable", as Cyprian thinks it would be a "honour" to meet you. Cyprian please meet Fred at Cafe Prakash where he gets "unadulterated admiration" with perhaps "adulterated" milk in the chai (I never trust the milk supply in Goa) (ha, ha). Yes, Cyprian has used another idiomatic expression (may your pen never run out of ink) but can be excused for not knowing that Fred is are a "cybersage" and probably does most of his writing on a computer keyboard. Fred should present Cyprian with a copy of his book, Another Goa", which has gems of his writings. More on this book later on. Don't be embarrassed, dear Fred. Accept the compliments when they keep coming as you never know when they will run out. I wish they you never run out of admirers. Count me as one of your humble admirers.
